About Me

I am a 25-year-old barista and poet living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I began a waste-conscious journey on a quest to true ZERO WASTE. This is a transition for most people but the goal is NO TRASH (almost virtually none) and VERY LITTLE RECYCLING. I have created this as a space for people to learn and grow with me as we seek to preserve the earth and care for each other, and the world around us. My name is Emily Jean McCollister. I graduated from LSU with a BA in English, concentration in Creative Writing – Poetry.

I currently work as the head barista at Reve Coffee Lab in Baton Rouge. I also freelance write and edit.

I am passionate about social justice, the earth, good music, and books. I also enjoy traveling, cooking, and creating.
